HAK

Thad Jones (AKA hak), has been dj'ing and making electronic music since 1992. After a chance encounter with Adam Douglas (AKA KEMEK) at a San Francisco rave, the two discovered a mutual love of acid house. After acquiring a Roland TB-303 from Andrew Johnson (of Astral Matrix fame), the duo released half a dozen records, under a variety of pseudonyms, most notably 303 Terrorists. Their final release together (Gundam) appeared on XLR8R Records, and remains the fastest selling release on XLR8R to this day.

An early champion of the jungle sound (he was knee deep in the sound back when the rest of us thought it was just fast breakbeat), Thad was an instrumental DJ on the West Coast. His endless touring educated crowds on the finer points of the new sound, and drove acceptance and finally established Jungle as a viable sound of the electronic scene. Hak continued to make jungle and released on blackpearl records, journees records, forestry service records, with planned releases down the road for 2012.

His main focus now is the UKbass music scene, with its diverse range of influences and genres, Thad says the music has finally come full circle, and gone back to the early days of being a melting pot of sounds, without any strict genre specific rules.

time has a way of telling...

Born at a deceptively young age, shilo.maggi spent his earliest years scurrying around Hollywoods clubs and rehearsal halls, claiming to be some sort of unvalidated (and usually unrecognized) Rock Royalty. His feet wet in the industry since a very young age, shilo watched one scene after another come and go, actively diving head first into the ones he found most interesting.

Then, in the early 90s, shilo discovered techno and the rave scene, and made his name spending the rest of the decade DJing across North America under a variety of psuedonyms, before two way communications with him were lost some time in the early 2000s.

These days, he is rarely heard from, beyond the occasional package bearing a new DJ mix, pipe bomb, or production arriving on our doorstep, bearing only the return address "07145". His latest mix series, "Haktest" has been a hit with the UK Bass / Future Dub audience, and a new installment is expected to drop any day.

Shilo is believed to be currently living somewhere in the Pacific Northwest of the United States and is considered highly unstable and potentially dangerous. If seen, please do not approach him, but contact Journees Music immediately.

SASHA DOMAYN

Genre: Dubstep, DnB

Sasha has been around music before she was even conceived. She has never been without a day of music within her family either playing in her mind or in the open.

Always being inclined to write music from her mother, Sasha built up quite an extensive array of lyrics and poetry. She found her love of Electronic music through satellite radio. Quickly relying on its ever introducing tracks to her knowledge she soon discovered djing talents. It was during that time that she thought up the idea to become a DJ.

As time progressed Sasha spent whatever allowance that was obtained on cd’s and tapes of her favorite artists - listening, learning and loving it all the while the thought to become a DJ laid in the back of her mind. After moving to Texas is where the true roots sprung inside once she was introduced to raves and the magic of trance and electronic music from the underground. It was here that the final decision to become a DJ flourished from the back of her mind to a “constant itching of the brain”. Today Sasha is breaking ground as a new-comer to the family of dj world and is on the verge of expanding her talents outside her comfort zone.
